In boa breeding, a "project" is a planned, often multi-year breeding effort aimed at producing a specific genetic outcome. A project’s target animal will share a specific combination of color/pattern mutations, with a particular look refined over successive generations. These are the project we’re working on.
Our Projects
Pearl Mosaic Albino (Sharp)
Pearl Mosaic is a long-horizon breeding project built to create bright, creamy animals richly saturated with pinks and purples, and brightened with Fire to give a pearl-like finish. This project explores how IMG impacts color saturation and experiments with pattern fragmentation using Aztec, Jungle, and Roswell Laddertail.
Generation 1: Pinkerton x Imogen
Due Late 2026
The first generation introduces our first pattern modifer, Aztec. In Aztec boas, saddles connect, fragment, and bleed into the lateral pattern rather than staying as separate elements. The result reads as an almost web-like or maze-like patterning where the dorsal and lateral fields blur together.
This generation also introduces hypo from both the sire and the dam. Hypo reduces black pigment providing a cleaner, brighter base for the pinks and purples to show through.

NFI Sunstone
Sunstone aims to create intensely warm, glowing animals saturated in coral, tangerine, and gold. This project creates NFIs, layering IMG to deepen and sharpen color, and works to intensify polygenic Coral generation over generation toward an ever-richer, more molten finish. It also explores the interplay of Anery Type I against an albino base, and experiments with pattern through Motley and Roswell Laddertail.
Generation 1: Gazpacho x Sorbet
Expected Early 2027
The first generation lays down the albino foundation the entire project is built on. Gazpacho is NFI, meaning he has one allele for JPC and one allele for Kahl. Sorbet is a visual Kahl. This means every animal in this litter is a visual albino, stripped of black pigment and left to glow in warm coral, orange, and gold.
This generation also introduces our first pattern modifier, Motley, along with Roswell Laddertail. Motley reorganizes the pattern into bold, connected blotches and open saddles, while Roswell Laddertail breaks the dorsal into a clean, rung-like ladder down the back. Together they give the warm albino base structure and movement.
Most importantly, this pairing establishes Coral, the polygenic engine of the whole project. Gazpacho traces to the origin line of Coral and carries it strongly, so this first litter sets the saturation baseline that every future generation will work to intensify.

Blackberry Inca
Blackberries are boas that are both Leopard and Central American Motley (the Colombian Motley variant is called the Eclipse). In this project, we are have several targets we’re working towards—the rarest of which is the Anery II Blackberry Inca.
Generation 1: Marita x Dov
Expected Early 2027
This is our foundation pairing. We are pairing Motley with the Leopard gene for the first time. Because Leopard is recessive, none of the offspring will be visual Leopards. But that’s OK—this gives us a Motley animal that carries het for Leopard, while also carrying het for Anery II (with BEA coming along for the ride).

Generation 2: Scully x Leopard Inca Male
Expected Early 2030
This pairing lays the albino groundwork for the project's cooler, high-contrast direction. Dana Scully brings visual Anery Type II, while the Leopard Inca sire adds his own striking Inca patterning over a visual Leopard base. Roughly half of the litter carries Inca, which modifies pattern into bold, reorganized blocks. Beneath the surface, each offspring carries the building blocks the project is reaching for: het for Leopard and het for Anery Type II (with Honduran T+ Albino along for the ride), making this litter the genetic engine that feeds the capstone.

Generation 3: Convergence
Expected Early 2031
In a normal boa, the dark saddle markings across the back are clearly separated. In Blackberry boas, Leopard and Motley cause these dark bars to bleed together and connect continuously down the spine. These boas are known for their dark, dusky purple to deep-black base coloration, and an overall darkening over time.
Adding the additional gene of Inca is unexplored territory—it could result in an even faster-darkening boa—or something even more unexpected.
Anery (anerythrism) reduces red pigment in boas, giving an even stronger “black and white” appearance. This is uncharted territory with the genes above, but we can be confident these boas will be distinct.
This generation is chasing Blackberries, Inca Blackberries, Anery II Blackerries, and Anery II Inca Blackberries. With only a 12.5% chance of hitting any one of those combinations, this is an exciting litter to watch!

X-Files
The X-Files project aims to create dark, otherworldly boas defined by the deep, smoky wash of Onyx and the reduced, near-black canvas it lays down. This project brings together five traits never seen in one animal, layering Leopard and Inca to fracture and reorganize pattern into something strange and unrepeatable, then working Anery Type II and Honduran Albino into the line to push toward ghostly, high-contrast extremes. Each generation stacks another element toward a singular capstone: an Onyx Inca Snow Leopard unlike anything we’ve seen on this planet.
